Greasy Boy was born out of Ken and Ben’s aspiration to serve a no-frills, scrummy burger that really doesn't hold back on the grease. We were at a Starbucks thinking of names for the pop-up burger brand one day, when all votes passed for the one and only Greasy Boy. With a name and big dreams to serve tantalising buns to the Singaporean public, i started work on what face to put to the brand.
Greasy Boy pulls inspiration from '30s style rubberhose cartoons (such as Mickey Mouse, Betty Boop, etc), as well more recent characters that reference the same, such as those from Cuphead and Bendy and the Ink Machine. With a perpetual half-lidded countenance and his classic slight grin, you know he just wants to unwind with a burger and a cold one in hand. Whenever the next pop-up is, you're invited and Greasy Boy would welcome you with greasy, but open, arms.
